River Patrol Force
The U.S. Navy’s River Patrol Force (Task Force 116) was established to sever the
Viet Cong supply lines along the waterways of South Vietnam. At its peak the Force operated 250 fiberglass-hulled
PBRs (Patrol Boat River), which received air support from Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three.
