Easter Offensive
Equipped with Soviet Tanks, Vo Nguyen Giap’s North Vietnamese Army launched a large-scale assault across the DMZ on 30th March 1972. The campaign lasted several months and despite early territorial gains, the Communists were eventually beaten back by a combination of ARVN counterattacks and intensive U.S. bombing.
