A daring but unsuccessful mission by U.S. forces to rescue American POWs from the Son Tay prison near Hanoi in November 1970. The raid, which involved Army
Special Forces personnel flown in by Air Force helicopters, was executed almost flawlessly, but unfortunately no prisoners were found.
