APH5 Flight Helmet

The APH5 was the Army's standard aviation headgear at the start of war. It featured integral headphones, a boom type microphone and a retractable tinted anti glare visor.

Early helmets were white and were either worn so in Vietnam or painted olive green by the owner. Later helmets came factory finished in Olive Green. The APH5 'brain bucket' was replaced by the AFH1 helmet.
