A descendant of the WWII design Mountain Rucksack and favored by
Special Forces troops in Vietnam, the M1952 Rucksack consisted of a large cotton duck pack with three outside pockets supported by a tubular steel frame. The main pouch and the three outside pockets had leather strap and buckle closures, whilst the pack flap pocket had a zip fastener.
The left side of rucksack boasted three cotton duck equipment hangers, whilst the right side featured a rifle-securing strap. The rucksack was also equipped with a waist strap to keep it centered on the back and a quick-release snap hook on the left shoulder strap.
