The cotton M1 ammunition pouch could accommodate two 8-round M1 rifle clips or two 15-round magazines for the
M1 or M2 Carbine. The loop on the back of the pouch contained a male press-stud that was used to attach it to the female fastener on the
M1936 pistol belt.
